A Case of Sporotrichosis

Abstract
Sporotrichosis is an infection of world wide distribution caused by the fungel organism Sporotrichum schenckii. The disease is usually of the primary cutaneous variety with involvement of regional lymphatics, although dissemination may occur.
A case of lymphatic type of sporoptrichosis, affecting 33 years old, Barber, who has been suffering from painless nodules on right hand and forearm, is presented. The skin lesion developed about 3 months ago, and increased size and number of the lesions insidiously. Diagnosis was confirmed by characteristic clinical, mycological, histopathological studies. He was treated with potassium iodide and there was markedly improvement.
